Ladies 2012 National and County Championship Draws Online

The Ladies 2012 National and County Championship draws are now available online. The draws for the National events (Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, Under 25's Singles, Under 25's Pairs and 2 Wood Singles) are now available for both north and south sections.

Defending singles champion Margaret Annetts (Salisbury) starts her defence against 2011 unbadged singles champion Karen Kirby (Blue Circle) while defending pairs champions Alex Jacobs and Sue Cooke start their defence at Box against Shirley Day and her partner from Warminster.
Mens 2012 National and County Championship Draws Online

The Mens 2012 National and County Championship draws are now available online. The draws for the National events (Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, Under 25's Singles and 2 Wood Singles) are now available for area's 1,2 and 3, with the area 4 draws becoming available in the next few weeks. You can access the 2012 National draws here.
There are some tasty first round draws with last season's National Semi-Finalist and Bowls Wiltshire Singles Champion Mel Biggs (Westlecot), taking on Wiltshire's Under 25's Singles Champion Tom Walkley (Wootton Bassett) in the singles draw.
Mens Singles and Pairs Reach Quarter Finals

Keith Hutchens and Graham Shadwell produced the biggest victories in the last 16 of the Wiltshire men’s national singles championship.
The former from the Chippenham Park club and 2003 champion Hutchens beat Amesbury’s Chris Collins 21-4 in just 13 ends at Wootton Bassett on Monday evening. But on the green alongside, England international Shadwell (Spencer Moulton) went even better winning 21-3 against Highworth’s Rob Etherington in only 11 ends.
Other winners at Bassett were Holt’s Ben Gadd with a 21-11 success over Ben Hatton (Amesbury) while Nick Revell (Alderbury) beat Westlecot’s wily old campaigner Ian Jefferies 21-13.
Ladies National Pairs Update

The final stages of the Ladies National Pairs Championship have been played with Box's vastly experienced duo of Sue Cooke and Alex Jacobs, along with the Wilton pair of Glenda Hibberd and Cathy Burrows, reaching the county final. Both pairs will now qualify for the Ladies National Championship finals held at Leamington at the end of July.
Cooke and Jacobs, who were 2003 county pairs champions and 2009/10 national indoor pairs champions, defeated last year’s county runners-up Margaret Annetts and Nancy Oliver (Salisbury) 20-17 in a tight quarter-final staged at Westlecot last Saturday. Then in the afternoon semi-finals they proved too strong for the Amesbury pair of Joan Coleman and Ann Humphries with a 22-11 victory to book their place in the county final on July 23.
Highworth Pair Make Green Keepers Final

Highworth bowlers Kevin Carter and Steve Taylor have both qualified for the final of the Green Keepers Singles competition, which will take place at county finals day on Sunday 11th September 2011.
The start of the competition saw 26 bowlers from various clubs, all aiming to make it through the 4 rounds, to reach the final and lift the Green Keepers title in September. Each round prior to the final was played over the course of 14 ends, if by then neither competitor had reached 15 shots.
